This project in Maidstone involved a full roof replacement, including structural repairs to damaged timbers and a complete re-roof using high-quality fibre cement slates.
The existing roof had significant wear, with ageing tiles and signs of deterioration in the underlying structure. Our goal was to fully strip back the roof, strengthen the framework, and install a long-lasting, weather-resistant roofing system in line with current building regulations.
The Work Carried Out
1. Full Strip Back
We carefully removed all existing tiles, battens, and underlay to expose the roof structure and assess its condition.
2. Timber Repairs & Rafter Reinforcement
Several rafters showed signs of rot and weakening. These were strengthened by bracing and reinforcing where required. All affected timber was treated to prevent further deterioration and ensure long-term durability.
3. New Membrane & Battening
A breathable roofing membrane was installed across the entire roof, followed by new treated battens fixed to regulation spacing, providing a solid base for the new slate system.
4. Fibre Cement Slate Installation
The roof was finished using fibre cement slates, chosen for their durability, clean appearance, and low maintenance. These were installed with precision to create a uniform, modern finish.
5. Ridge & Leadwork Detailing
New ridge tiles and leadwork were fitted around the chimney and roof junctions, ensuring a watertight and professional finish.

The finished roof has completely transformed the property, both visually and structurally. The new fibre cement slate system provides a sleek, modern look while offering excellent protection against the elements.
