Towergate Builders & Developers recently completed this elegant Indian Sandstone garden pathway for a homeowner in Ashford, Kent, replacing an ageing concrete path with a beautifully designed natural stone walkway that blends seamlessly into the surrounding planting.
The existing pathway had become tired, weathered and overgrown with weeds, while the garden borders had begun to encroach onto the walking route. The customer wanted a more attractive feature that would improve access to the garden room while complementing the established planting and creating a softer, more natural appearance.

The original concrete pathway had become weathered, uneven and overgrown with weeds and surrounding planting. It lacked character and no longer complemented the attractive garden, leaving the access route looking dated and untidy.

The new Indian Sandstone pathway creates a stunning feature that winds naturally through the garden towards the garden room. The premium natural stone blends perfectly with the surrounding planting, providing a durable, low-maintenance walkway that significantly enhances the appearance of the entire outdoor space.
Removing the Existing Path
Our team carefully removed the old concrete pathway and excavated the area to the correct depth before preparing a solid foundation suitable for natural stone paving.
As part of the project, we reshaped the route of the path to create a more flowing design through the garden, giving the finished installation a far more attractive and welcoming appearance than the original straight concrete path.
Premium Indian Sandstone Installation
The new pathway was constructed using high-quality Indian Sandstone, selected for its warm natural colouring and unique stone variation. Each slab was individually laid on a full mortar bed with carefully aligned joints to achieve a professional finish while maintaining a natural, traditional character.
