We recently completed a full garden transformation for a customer in Sittingbourne, Kent, replacing the old decking and tired garden layout with a combination of Kandla Grey Indian sandstone paving, new turf and matching paved pathways.
The existing decking directly outside the property was removed, along with the old garden surfaces where required. The areas for the new paving were excavated and prepared before a suitable sub-base and membrane were installed to provide a solid foundation for the new patio and pathways.
Before:
The garden previously featured ageing decking immediately outside the rear of the house, with the remaining outdoor space in need of improvement. The different surfaces and old decking made the garden feel less cohesive and limited the amount of attractive, usable outdoor space.
After:
The completed garden is brighter, cleaner and much more structured. Kandla Grey Indian sandstone now forms the main patio, central pathway and additional seating area at the end of the garden, all finished with contrasting dark paved edging.
Fresh turf has transformed the surrounding areas into new lawn, while the retained planting beds soften the boundaries and add colour. The finished result provides the customer with a practical combination of patio, pathways, lawn and planting space that can be enjoyed throughout the garden.
The new paving begins with a generous patio immediately outside the rear doors, before continuing along a central pathway through the garden to a second paved area at the far end. This creates a practical connection between the different areas of the garden while retaining plenty of green space.
To complete the transformation, the remaining ground was prepared and fresh turf installed on both sides of the pathway. New planting areas have also been retained around the boundaries, complementing the newly landscaped garden.
