We recently completed this Raj Green Indian sandstone patio installation in Margate, Kent, transforming the front garden and entrance into a smart, practical paved area while retaining the established planting and character of the property.
The existing surface was removed and the area excavated and cleared in preparation for the new patio. Care was taken to work around the established shrubs and existing brick boundary walls, allowing the new paving to fit naturally into the existing front garden.
Before:
The front garden had been stripped back ready for improvement, leaving an uneven soil and rubble surface between the existing brick walls and established planting. The entrance lacked a clean, practical paved route from the pavement towards the property.
After:
The completed area has been transformed with Raj Green Indian sandstone, creating a continuous paved surface through the front garden and entrance. The mixed natural tones complement the original brickwork beautifully, while the existing shrubs and planted borders have been retained to keep the garden’s established appearance.
Natural-coloured grout provides a subtle finish between the slabs, leaving the sandstone itself as the main feature.
Once the ground had been properly prepared, we installed Raj Green Indian sandstone paving in a traditional mixed-size pattern. The natural stone provides a varied blend of warm browns, greys, greens and subtle earthy tones that works particularly well alongside the property’s existing red brickwork.
The paving was finished with natural-coloured grout, creating clean joints without taking away from the variation and character of the sandstone. The completed patio was then thoroughly cleaned down to reveal the colours and natural texture of the stone.
The entire transformation was completed in just two days, providing the customer with an attractive and durable new entrance and patio area.
