Power Wash & Re-Grout Patio | Hythe
- Location: Hythe, Kent
- Project: Indian Sandstone Patio Washing & Re-Grouting
- Duration: 1 day
Towergate Builders & Developers recently completed a professional patio cleaning and regrouting project in Hythe, Kent, bringing a weathered Indian Sandstone patio back to life.
Over time, natural stone patios can lose their appearance due to dirt, algae, moss, staining and deteriorating pointing. This patio had become discoloured and the grout joints had started to break down, detracting from the overall appearance of the garden.

Before:
The Indian Sandstone patio had become dull and weathered with years of accumulated dirt, staining and organic growth. The original grout joints had deteriorated, leaving the patio looking tired and in need of restoration.
After:
Following a professional power wash and complete regrouting, the patio has been transformed. The sandstone’s natural colours have been fully restored, the new pointing provides a neat, durable finish, and the entire outdoor space once again looks clean, attractive and inviting.

Deep Patio Cleaning
Our first step was to thoroughly clean the entire patio using professional power washing equipment. Years of built-up dirt, surface staining, algae and organic growth were carefully removed without damaging the natural sandstone.
The cleaning process immediately revealed the beautiful blend of warm natural colours hidden beneath the surface, restoring the character and appearance of the Indian Sandstone.
Repointing & Regrouting
Once the patio had been fully cleaned and prepared, the existing damaged joints were repaired using fresh exterior paving jointing compound.
Regrouting not only gives the patio a crisp, finished appearance but also helps to stabilise the paving, reduce weed growth and prevent water from washing away the bedding beneath the slabs.
A Patio That Looks Like New
The transformation was remarkable. The rich natural colours of the Indian Sandstone were restored, while the fresh pointing created clean, uniform joints throughout the patio.
Instead of replacing the paving, the homeowner now has a patio that looks refreshed, well-maintained and ready to enjoy for many more years.
